Hi and welcome to OpenRose, a FREE and Open-Source requirements management application. You can find more information about the same at OpenRose - FREE Requirements Management Application

Today, we are going to talk about Baseline requirements in Detail View.

Let's dive into the project titled Barclays tariff for personal customers and take a look at the tree view. First, it has well-organized requirements, and at the project level, we can see existing baselines or create new ones by project or Item Type. We have already created January and February Baselines, which are based on the entire project, as well as Loans January and Loans February Baselines, which are based on specific Item Types.

Let's explore January 2025, which is the project based Baseline. Clicking on "Open" button and this takes us to the details view. Here, we can see the Baseline information along with its Item Types. Since it is a snapshot and read-only view of our project at any given point in time, we cannot modify the structure or move Item Types up and down to readjust their location.

Inside a particular Item Type, we can see the Requirements or Items underneath. For example, there are five Baseline Requirements here. If we go back to the first Item Type, we can see two child requirements, out of which the second one has additional child requirement nodes, known as Baseline requirements, sitting under it.

When we work with the details view, we can see the same information about the hierarchy: the project, the Baseline, the Item Type, the parent requirement, and further down, the child requirements. We can see Baseline data either at the root level, in the details view, or by opening the item. We can also view detailed information, including traceability.

If an item does not have any traceability, we can navigate back to a previous item, such as "If you have an older account," and jump to that item. Opening the requirement and checking the traceability, we can see if there is a trace to another item. For example, the "fee declaration" requirement might be sitting in a different Baseline Item Type. To go there, we can click "Open" and use the same details view to see all the information about that particular Baseline requirement item.

We can also see that the parent traceability takes us back to the original requirement in the Baseline, allowing us to jump between Baseline requirements. Additionally, we can go directly to the tree view from the details view for the given Baseline requirement, where we can see all the data for the entire Baseline. This view might take longer and request a large amount of data from the server depending on the number of requirements in the Baseline. For working with specific data, we recommend using the details view, which requests only the necessary data from the server.

If you have an older account Baseline requirement with four children, you can decide to exclude the parent requirement. Excluding the parent requirement also excludes all its children. Inside a child Baseline requirement, you cannot modify its included status if the parent is excluded. To include the child, you must first include the parent. You have two options: include only the parent or include the parent along with all its children. If you include only the parent, the children remain excluded. You can then include a specific child. Going back to the parent requirement, you will see both the parent and one of its children included, while three other children are still excluded. To include all items under "If you have an older account" requirement, click "Include all child Baseline items," and all items will be included.

We can work with Baseline requirements in both details view and tree view. In the details view, to see traceability, open the specific requirement to see more details. In the tree view, click on the tree view data to jump to the Baseline tree view.

We appreciate any feedback you may have for us. Have a great day and goodbye for now.
